Serrapeptase, also known as serratia peptidase, serratiapeptase, and serratio peptidase was discovered in the 1970's by Japanese Scientists who isolated this naturally occurring enzyme while studying the non-pathogenic Serratia bacteria found to be living in the intestinal tract of the Japanese Silkworm.

 

 

The serrapeptase enzyme is used by the silkworm to dissolve it's cocoon from which it then emerges as a butterfly.

 

Serrapeptase was extensively studied by the late Dr. Hans Niepier and has been used for over 25 years in Europe and Asia.
